What is this for?
Any time you have text but no timing: lecture notes for a slideshow video, song lyrics, quotes for social clips, dialog scripts for animatics, or vocabulary sentences for language study. The tool gives every sentence a proper SRT cue so you can drop the file straight into a video editor or player and refine timings from there.
Splitting and wrapping rules
- Sentences are split at
. ! ? …followed by whitespace - Long sentences wrap at word boundaries, max 84 characters per cue (≈ two lines of 42 — the conventional subtitle line width)
- Cues run back-to-back: cue N ends exactly when cue N+1 starts, so no dead air unless you set a long duration
Going the other way?
Have subtitles and want the plain words back? Use SRT to TXT or the Transcript Formatter, which also merges fragmented caption lines into readable sentences.
